Installing Local Help for Citrix published DOORS Client

There are 3 options for help with DOORS

1. Internet

2. Local

3. Intranet

The following article advises using the Local option (2) if you are installing DOORS on a Citrix farm machine and that DOORS client will be published for multiple users to use via Citrix.

Has anyone had any success installing DOORS Help on a Citrix published DOORS client according to this configuration?

By default locally deployed help is normally stored inside the user's profile filespace when the help installation is carried out.
For a Citrix deployment this does not work (since the client will be accessed by many different users)
The solution in the link above involves locating the help files in a location outside the user's profile and then modifying the file paths in the following help config.ini file

C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.6\help\configuration\config.ini

When we try to change the location specified in that file from @user.home........ to a fixed location such as C:/IBM/Help....... the help system no longer works
This is before we even try to use Citrix.

Has anybody followed the instructions in that article for a Citrix deployment and got it to work?

Thanks

Sean

When you say "the help system no longer works" what do you mean exactly? Does the help not load? Is there an error? Does the help dialog appear but not display content?

In the config.ini did you change replace all 3 lines that contained @user.home with C:/IBM/Help? When I changed these 3 locations on my system to C:/temp the help still loads fine.

Did you check the C:/IBM/Help path or whatever you used to see if the DoorsDWA9.6.1Help directory got created?
